Three Days in the Tomb

Three days the measure of pain You weighed
Endured for the soul of wicked me
Crucified and torn by sins not Yours
Shame for Divinity this price gladly taken
To look upon the lost prize You've claimed
My soul unworthy of this great honor
Weeps in thought of Righteousness slain for Evil
Death mine wiped away forever by Death Yours
So sinner I the Redeemed could be
Yet this Death You felt was not alone
For three days then torment of Hell burned
Bought by me unceasing dues of Fire
You Lord paid to win an enemy of Love
To dethrone Hades and the Grave by me unseen
To mend Your children to Your bosom once more
Purged my unholiness is from Your eyes
And You now call me friend out of this world
Three days for Eternity, You for me
That all who seek may find Your grace
And Your longed-for companion be,

My Christ,
My King,
My God
