The Turning

Blackened skies and blackened lives,
once blue skies turned dark as night,
a country rife with tears and strife,
We turn our hearts to God.

When evil men with decaying souls,
cause lives to end and blood to flow,
a unified nation is what is shown,
We turn our hearts to God.

Amidst the wreckage a nation cries,
over her, His shadow lies,
He hears our prayers and mournful sighs,
God turns His heart to us.

Through our deepest pain, He's drawing near,
when we grieve, our pain He shares,
once we're past the pain, we'll see He's always cared,
God's heart is turned to us.

In these times, our souls are tried,
we'll come out of them purified,
it's through this He is glorified;
When our hearts have turned to God's.
