For my Mother

I try to tell you often.
It's meant everytime I say,
"love you Mom",
then hang up the phone,
and go about my day.
We both try to show it
as this insane world around us spins.
Sometimes it's hard though,
in the midst of things
and the trials that we're in.
So one more time, I'll tell you here
how much you mean to me.
And in the chaos that's been our lives
you've stayed number one with me.
Always there to love me,
staying strong despite bad odds.
And yet I've still the eyes to see
you're a blessing straight from God.
